Getting to know the author…When I was growing up I remember my mom reading books with men and women in some pretty sexy poses. These books are better known as Harlequin Romances. Over my growing up years, I read mostly Phyllis Whitney and Mary Stewart. One day I asked to read a Harlequin Romance and I was hooked. Of course, as the years progressed, reading became a lost pastime with me. Raising two boys with Scouts and Basketball, I was more of a crafter than creator.
As I have grown older I picked up the habit once again. Having read 100 books plus in one year! Beginning with The Hunger Games trio and of course, couldn’t put down Fifty Shades trilogy, I read it 8 times over. Fell in love with The Highlander series by Karen Marie Moning as well as her Fever series. Morphing over to JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood and onto Gena Showalter, Kresley Cole, and Jeanine Frost.
Then I discovered Mr. Gideon Cross, Prof. Gabriel Emerson, and the foul-mouthed Brit Ethan Blackstone. All sexy alpha male characters created by Sylvia Day, Sylvan Reynard, and Raine Miller. Not to mention David Gandy, but that is another story.
Friends began to suggest reads to me. I swooned onto Central Jesse Cloud Nine,the This Man Trilogy by Jodie Ellen Malpas. Highly recommend her books! Reading her One Night Trilogy inspired me to finish my first novel.
Then I actually tweeted with Jake Malden on Twitter, he is author of The Jared Effect, also The Jared Enigma which I’ve read recently. Jake takes naughty to a whole new level. Raw unadulterated lust!
I was brave enough to ask him to read a short story I’d written. His encouragement filled me with the passion to continue to pursue writing.
